Story

The story begins where the Bernardelli Insurance Society sent out two of their female operatives named "Stungun" Milly Thompson and "Derringer" Merryl Stryfe in search for the legendary gunman as part of their Damage Control Program in an effort to prevent further property damage generated be the alleged. With only rumors to guide them in their quest, they set forth blindly and stumbled upon various people who seemed to be like Vash the Stampede. But who would have ever thought that the actual person is a wacky-goofy-looking-hopeless-romantic-crazy-man who has a large appetite for donuts!?! o_O And he was right underneath their noses the whole time!

As the story unfolds, the two learned more and more about Vash. How he lives, how he fights, and what he is fighting for. Later on, a wandering priest will join their misadventures by the name of Nicholas D. Wolfwood. A kind-hearted man who is fostering abandoned children and carries a large cross on his back (which happens to be a VERY big gun by the way). But little do they know that he is part of the Gung-Ho-Guns, who hunt down Vash (not because of the bounty on his head) and serves a certain master, a man who goes by the name of Knives.

As the plot thickens, you will learn why Vash has a $$60 Billion reward on his head, his connection with Knives, and why the series is called TRIGUN.

Funny, yet moving. These are ample words, which I can use to describe this anime. At first glance, the story and plot seemed simple. But then, as you go deeper into understanding the series, you will be moved by Vash's character, and be in awe. The story focused mainly on Vash but still left room for the development of the supporting characters. The plot doesn't have that big of a twist but it sure packed a lot of surprises for the viewer. The first few parts were full of laughter and is enjoyable to watch while the other half is full of drama and more action. Unlike any other action-packed anime, this one doesn't contain much violence and blood. Even though the setting is somewhat Western, the character design is interesting -- especially that of Vash and the supporting characters like Legato Bluesummers. The animation isn't that detailed and fluid as compared to other shows but at least it doesn't seemed like it's on a tight budget. ^_^ However, the ending of the story hints that it could still have a continuation cause it didn't give a sense of closure. Nevertheless, if that ever happens, I would surely be one of the first to have a copy of it!
